The International Innovation Corps offered a unique opportunity for bright, young minds to play an active role in building and implementing innovative solutions to some of India’s toughest social problems. The IIC aims to jump start the process of problem-driven innovation in the Indian public sector by connecting teams of bright, talented and committed graduates from Indian universities, the University of Chicago, and other top international Universities with Indian public sector enterprises for paid, 13-month assignments that tackle discrete and tractable but important social challenges. The IIC trained its fellows in the US and India, organizes them into teams based on skills, and places teams at Indian public sector host institutions. Each IIC team works with the host institution to complete a project that impacts social outcomes. In the process, teams learn how to rapidly innovate and implement solutions in complex settings.
