This event co-hosted with USAID/India and organized in support of the Global Diaspora Week, celebrated  Indian-Americans and Indians educated or trained abroad who have returned to India to contribute to the country’s social and economic development.  Through a moderated discussion, we examined what motivates this dedicated group of entrepreneurs, how we can determine impact, and together address the challenges that returning diaspora face in advancing social enterprises.

India’s diaspora community is one of the key stakeholders that USAID works to engage in resolving the country’s most pressing development challenges. USAID/India is now implementing a five-year strategy to work with the Government of India, private sector, and civil society to identify, pilot and scale-up cost-effective, innovative development solutions in India with potential for global impact. Innovations include products, processes, technology, and services to improve access to quality health, education, water and sanitation services, and clean energy.

Attendance to this event was by invitation only.
