UChicago Center in Delhi
On March 3rd, the University of Chicago Civic Leadership Academy (CLA) fellows traveled to the UChicago Center in Delhi for a one-week global practicum. CLA fellows met with 16 government and non-profit leaders to explore and understand civic leadership from the perspective of another country and city. Additionally, fellows were hosted for a private reception at the home of US Counselor for Public Affairs, Jeffrey Sexton.
The UChicago Civic Leadership Academy is a leadership development program for rising professionals in nonprofit organizations and local government agencies within the City of Chicago and Cook County. The Office of Civic Engagement and Harris Public Policy launched the Civic Leadership Academy in 2014, in partnership with the University’s other professional schools and Local Initiatives Support Corp. (LISC) Chicago, the Civic Consulting Alliance, the City of Chicago, and Cook County.
The Civic Leadership Academy is an interdisciplinary leadership development program for emerging and high-potential leaders in non-profit organizations and local government agencies within the City of Chicago and Cook County.
Developed by the University's Office of Civic Engagement, in partnership with LISC Chicago and the Civic Consulting Alliance, the program is designed to develop a pipeline of talented leaders to help nonprofits and government agencies thrive.
